The Level 2 Administration Assistant apprenticeship is almost here and Steadfast Assessment is ready!
After five years of campaigning by employers and training providers, the Level 2 Administration Assistant apprenticeship has been approved and will be live for starts from 1 August 2026. It’s a milestone moment for a sector that’s been waiting a long time for a standard built specifically around this role. And with the start date now locked in, the real question for providers isn’t whether to offer it — it’s who’s actually ready to assess it.
At Steadfast Assessment, our answer is: we are and we’re ready from day one. We’ve spent the time ahead of launch doing the groundwork by designing our assessment approach and building a delivery model providers will need on day one of the standard going live.
We’re keen to work with providers from day one of delivery to make sure the new apprenticeship assessment is embedded throughout programme design — not treated as a final hurdle to plan around once everything else is already set. When assessment is part of the conversation from the start, gateway and assessment become a natural conclusion to the programme rather than a scramble at the end. That’s a smoother, more efficient process for apprentices, employers and providers alike — and exactly what a long-awaited standard like this deserves.
It’s not just this standard that’s new — the whole sector is going through significant change, as end-point assessment is phased out in favour of a broader apprenticeship assessment model. That’s a lot to take in alongside launching a brand-new standard, and we don’t expect providers to become experts in the reforms overnight.
That’s where we come in. Steadfast Assessment is here to support and advise on all of it — from what the reforms mean for your programme design, to how assessment fits into delivery day-to-day. You don’t need to navigate this alone, and you don’t need to have all the answers before you talk to us.
One thing we want to make crystal clear: providers do not have to mark the assessment themselves if they don’t want to. Some assessment organisations are shifting more marking responsibility onto training providers under the reforms — but with Steadfast, that’s a choice, not a requirement. We’re able to manage the entire assessment process on your behalf, and — between us — it’s what we’d recommend. It means your team can concentrate on what you do best: delivering a great programme, while we take care of assessment from start to finish.
Two delivery models, built around how you work
We know providers operate differently, so we’ve built flexibility into how we deliver the Level 2 Administration Assistant:
Full Steadfast Assessment ownership, where we manage the assessment process end-to-end.
Blended delivery, where we work alongside your existing training and QA structures.
Whichever model fits, the goal is the same — assessment that supports your programme design instead of working against it.
Let’s talk early!
We already have providers lined up ahead of the August 2026 start, and we’d like to add you to that conversation now. The earlier we’re involved in your programme design, the smoother the path to gateway and assessment will be.
If you’re planning your Level 2 Administration Assistant delivery, get in touch — we’re ready when you are!
