A Facilities Manager Assessment Organisation is an approved company responsible for delivering assessments for apprenticeships in this field. As an Assessment Organisation in the Facilities Management sector, we ensure that apprentices meet the required standards and competencies set out in the relevant apprenticeship standards.
What the Role Entails
This occupation is found in various sectors and organisations, such as professional facilities management companies, property management companies, construction, hospitals, schools, colleges, and universities. A facilities manager may work directly for the company whose services they manage, or they may work for an organisation that provides these services to various businesses. The broad purpose of the occupation is to be responsible for the maintenance and security of buildings and services. Their work ensures that the environment meets the needs of the people working within it. They manage tasks like overseeing building projects, renovations, or refurbishments, managing general upkeep and maintenance, ensuring that facilities meet regulations and environmental, health, and security standards.

The assessment methods can be delivered in any order. The result of one assessment method does not need to be known before starting the next.
Performance in the Assessments determines the overall grade of:

Professional discussion with a portfolio of evidence
In the professional discussion, an independent assessor and apprentice have a formal two-way conversation. It gives the apprentice the opportunity to demonstrate the KSBs mapped to this assessment method. The questions will cover a range of themes for example, Health & Safety, facilities management, quality assurance, stakeholder management, EDI, Wellbeing and CPD.
Business Case and Q&A
The apprentice creates a business case that has real business application and benefit. It should be a significant and defined piece of work and may include, for example, research, analysis and the completion of tasks or activities to achieve the outcome. This is followed by a Q&A session.
