Bid and Proposal Co-ordinator

Level 3

A Bid & Proposal Co-ordinator Assessment Organisation is an approved company that is responsible for providing assessments for apprenticeships in the field of Bid & Proposals. As an Assessment Organisation in the Bid & Proposal sector, we will ensure that apprentices meet the required standards and competencies outlined in the relevant apprenticeship standards.

What the Role Entails

The role of the Bid and Proposal Co-ordinator is to support new business through the full end to end proposal process – from initial interest and co-ordinating activities around pursuit of an opportunity, co-ordination of responses to pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ), if applicable, and final tender proposal documentation submission.

Components of the Bid and Proposal Co-ordinator Assessment

Order of Assessment Methods

The assessment methods can be delivered in any order. The result of one assessment method does not need to be known before starting the next.

Performance in the Assessments determines the overall grade of:
• Fail
• Pass
• Merit
• Distinction

Knowledge Test

The test will last for 2 hours 15 minutes and include 6 questions comprising of 5 essay-style questions and 1 practical written assessment. It is suggested that the apprentice should spend 20 minutes per essay style question, and 35 minutes to read and answer the practical assessment. Each of the five knowledge areas must be assessed (1 question per knowledge area plus the practical written assessment which assesses the writing and editorial skill area) and the test must be closed book meaning no notes or text books can be taken into the test.

Professional Discussion Supported by a Portfolio of Evidence

The professional discussion should last 1 hour, and the independent assessor will review the portfolio of evidence for context and ask 8 - 10 open questions from their question bank, split equally between scenario and factual based questions, to assess the KSBs listed in the Standard.
